WELCOME TO PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The focus of this course is on
the study of dating, love and interpersonal relationships.
Emphasis is on increasing awareness of values, emotions and other
motivational factors that affect an individual’s personal behavior in a variety
of different types of human relationships.
In addition to learning theories about relationships, students will have an opportunity to examine their own
relationships, practice new relationship skills, and get feedback from others
about those skills and behaviors.
Things you will learn in this class:
* Through participation in small group settings, you will apply psychological theory (carried over from Psychology) to identify loving and responsible human relationships and an understanding of yourself and your relationships.
* You will increase your appreciation and awareness of similarities and differences which exist between oneself and others.
* You will demonstrate an understanding of psychological theories of love and personal growth.
* You will demonstrate the ability to utilize communication skills.
* You will demonstrate an ability to identify and apply the principles studied in the class to your own lives.
